PART 1: What Is a Preposition? – Preposition কী?

A preposition is a word used to show the relationship between a noun or pronoun and another word in a sentence.
In this lesson, we focus on place (কোথায়) and direction (কোথায় যাচ্ছে) related prepositions.

Prepositions of Place – অবস্থান বোঝাতে

on	on a surface	উপর	The book is on the table.
under	below something	নিচে	The cat is under the chair.
next to	beside	পাশে	The bank is next to the pharmacy.
between	in the middle of two things	মাঝখানে	The school is between two shops.
behind	at the back of	পেছনে	The car is behind the house.
in front of	ahead of something	সামনে	The bus is in front of the store.

Prepositions of Direction – চলাচলের দিক বোঝাতে

to	movement toward something	কোন কিছুর দিকে	She is going to school.
into	movement inside	ভিতরে	He walked into the room.
onto	movement to a surface	উপর	The dog jumped onto the bed.
out of	movement outside	বাইরে	She went out of the kitchen.
from	where something starts	থেকে	I came from the library.

Preposition of Place
