IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System.
It is used worldwide to assess English language proficiency for:
Study abroad
Work abroad
Immigration & permanent residency (e.g., Canada, UK, Australia)
There are two versions:

Section | Time | Description |

Listening | ~30 minutes | 4 sections, 40 questions |
Reading | 60 minutes | 3 long passages (Academic) or work/social texts (General) |
Writing | 60 minutes | 2 tasks: a report/letter & an essay |
Speaking | 11–14 minutes | 3 parts: Interview, Cue Card, Discussion |
🕒 Total Test Time: ~2 hours 45 minutes
Each section is scored 0–9. Final score = average of all 4.

👉 Many universities require Band 6.5+
👉 Immigration programs (like Express Entry) require Band 6+ (in each part)

Bring your valid passport (used during registration)
Arrive early for identity verification
Test is conducted in sections—Speaking may be same day or another day
Paper-based or Computer-based test option
No breaks between Listening, Reading, Writing
Practice each section under timed conditions
Focus on vocabulary building & grammar
Familiarize yourself with question types
Take mock tests regularly
Get feedback (from teacher or AI tools like ChatGPT!)
